Directors from all five of the nominated films in the Foreign Language Film category joined us (schedules permitting) for this event celebrating the best in world cinema. This year’s five nominated films are from Colombia (Embrace of the Serpent), Denmark (A War), France (Mustang), Hungary (Son of Saul) and Jordan (Theeb). Academy governor and Oscar-winning producer Mark Johnson (Rain Man) moderated the discussion with the directors of the five films, and the program featured lengthy clips from each nominee.
