DONNA GIGLIOTTI TO PRODUCE THE 91ST OSCARS
GLENN WEISS TO CO-PRODUCE AND DIRECT THE OSCARS
Oscar-winning producer Donna Gigliotti will produce the 91st Oscars, and Emmy®-winning director Glenn Weiss will co-produce and direct the show, Academy President John Bailey announced today. The Oscars will air live on the ABC Television Network and broadcast outlets worldwide on Sunday, February 24, 2019.
“Donna and Glenn will infuse new energy and vision into this 91st awards presentation, and we are excited about a broad-based creative relationship with these two artists,” said Bailey.
87 COUNTRIES IN COMPETITION FOR 2018 FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM OSCAR
Eighty-seven countries have submitted films for consideration in the Foreign Language Film category for the 91st Academy Awards®. Malawi and Niger are first-time entrants.
The 2018 submissions are:

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today published its list of upcoming submission deadlines for 91st Academy Awards consideration.
Submissions for individual categories and the General Entry/Oscars Submission Form (OSF) are due by 5 p.m. PT on the following dates:

Documentary Short Subject
Foreign Language Film
Animated Short Film

ACADEMY REVEALS 2018 STUDENT ACADEMY AWARD WINNERS
The Academy has voted 19 students as winners of the 45th Student Academy Awards® competition. This year, the Student Academy Awards competition received a total of 1,582 entries from 278 domestic and 122 international colleges and universities, which were voted upon by a record number of Academy members. The 2018 winners join the ranks of such past Student Academy Award winners as Patricia Cardoso, Pete Docter, Cary Fukunaga, John Lasseter, Spike Lee, Trey Parker, Patricia Riggen and Robert Zemeckis.
