Since 1998, the Academy Film Archive has served as the home to the Academy’s Media Literacy Program Collection. The Media Literacy Program is a three day event in which Los Angeles Unified School District high school students participate in film analysis and group discussions, as well as question and answer panels with professional filmmakers. The Archive's collection includes over two dozen events. The program is aimed at raising awareness about media messages, and arming students with the skills to interpret those messages. Feature presentations and cast and crew discussions include: “Crash,” “Napoleon Dynamite,” “Blind Side,” “Mean Girls,” and “Across the Universe.”
