The ConstellationCenter is being planned as world-class performing arts center in Boston, Massachusetts which will eventually showcase a wide range of performance events, including music, theater, opera and film. ConstellationCenter Founder, Glenn KnicKrehm, realized early in the project’s development that due to the advancement of digital cinema, securing theatrical film prints for use in the facility’s proposed theaters might prove to be a challenge by the time the project is complete. Understanding this, he set out to build a first-rate film collection, dictating that it be composed of significant films from the earliest days of the motion picture industry to the present day. The collection has grown steadily since the first films arrived at the Archive in 2006, and now contains over 500 items; including features, shorts, and documentaries --many of which are either newly-restored prints or high-quality originals.
