Since 2012, Academy Conversations have been paired with the dozens of screenings that take place at various Academy venues yearly. Casts and crews entertain the audience with discussions and tales of their experiences making the films. Highlights include the "Red Hook Summer" discussion with director Spike Lee, "Arbitrage" discussion with star Richard Gere and writer/director Nicholas Jarecki, "Lincoln" discussion with producer/director Steven Spielberg, producer Kathleen Kennedy, screenwriter Tony Kushner, composer John Williams, and co-stars Daniel Day Lewis and Sally Field, and the "Lee Daniels' The Butler" discussion with director Lee Daniels, writer Danny Strong, and actors Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey and David Oyelowo.
