One of the film industry's most respected actors and directors, Clint Eastwood first rose to fame as the star of the Italian "Dollars" trilogy of westerns directed by Sergio Leone (which we'll be spotlighting in a collection of its own). His string of successful films in the 1970s including multiple Dirty Harry titles made him a household name, and his directorial efforts have included many respected titles including two that won both Best Picture and Directing, Unforgiven (1992) and Million Dollar Baby (2004). He also served as mayor of the California town of Carmel from 1986 until 1988 and runs his own production company, Malpaso, which has produced the majority of his films. Complete with archival material from the Academy's Margaret Herrick Library and the Academy Film Archive, let's take a look at the life and career of a filmmaking icon.
