Linwood Dunn, for whom the Pickford Center’s theater is named, was known as the “father of the optical printer.” His collection of over 400 items has been at the Academy Film Archive since 2000, and consists of visual effects shots, title sequences, elements from a variety of his work on 3D films, large format films, special venue films, home movies, and advertising. The materials included in this collection are primarily 16mm, 35mm, 65mm and 70mm film.
