The Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. Collection was donated to the Archive in October 2007 by Vera Fairbanks, the widow of actor and decorated World War II veteran Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. (1909-2000). The initial shipment of reels was followed by a second, received in October 2009. The collection consists of nearly one hundred 16mm reels, including over 90 reels of home movies. The home movies range in date from 1936 to 1949 and include numerous behind-the-scenes clips from feature films in which Fairbanks, Jr. appeared.
