Cecil B. DeMille Collection

Scouting and costume tests for DeMille’s unrealized feature film Rurales (ca. 1944)

The Cecil B. DeMille Collection, a vast and varied collection of film material, includes DeMille’s personal prints of almost all of the films he directed and produced. The collection was given to the Academy Film Archive in 2004 by the Cecil B. DeMille Foundation through Mr. DeMille’s granddaughter, Cecilia DeMille Presley. Materials include home movies featuring scenes of the director and his children playing in the pool, celebrating birthdays, and fishing. The collection includes many reels of behind-the-scenes footage of DeMille’s most famous films, including outtakes and test footage for both realized and unrealized projects.
